Test Control System

The Test Control System is a bespoke solution that consolidates multiple control, measurement and operational functions into a single streamlined system, simplifying liquid handling and testing processes while improving accuracy and operational control across your site. Designed and built to your specific requirements, it brings together essential control functions that would otherwise require several separate products, helping reduce complexity and improve efficiency in your operations.

Key Details

For use by petroleum tankers, and indeed most other liquid carrying vessels, it can carry out a set of procedures used to evaluate and ensure the functionality, accuracy, and reliability of tankers. It has a full of a range of features that are essential for maintaining healthy tankers, ensuring they meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.

The Test Control System was developed by Cardinal. It was created following an extensive equipment evaluation to enhance the specialist training required by a major Carriage of Dangerous Goods road tank operator that transports elevated temperature products.

This evaluation demonstrated a real need for bespoke designed inspection and testing equipment that would complete the job much quicker but also to the higher standard than currently met in the industry. This was driven by a series of serious and expensive incidents involving high temperature and other dangerous substances transported by road in tankers.

The Series 6 range has been developed  to test and inspect a complete petroleum tanker. The test centre takes care of the pressure testing and also monitors the vapour line. Also include in the series 6 range are bespoke tools to test  PPV valves to ATEX approved torches and multimeters and degassing systems. All aspects have be thought about and a tool has been developed.

Key Efficiencies

The testing control system has been designed to help users save both money and time. It does this in a number of ways, by:

  • Fully testing the splitter line and individually the service equipment fitted using a Cardinal takes less than 30 mins (previously typically 1.5 hours but missing many leaks). It gives advanced warning of a Non-Return Valve issue and prevents a very expensive to repair, blocked splitter line.
  • Rapidly trouble shooting, tracking down and quantifying where the problem is, instead of hours of speculation and inaccurate assessment of an issue.
  • Making Pressure Testing on a regular basis easy, much easier than waiting for the failed delivery and upset customer or driver. Or, even worse, the seriously injured person in hospital.
