Semmens Fuels, a valued long-standing customer of Alpeco, reached out to us when Mark Semmens, the company’s owner, was considering adding a second-hand tanker equipped with Truck III to their fleet. In addition, Mark sought to upgrade another truck already in operation to enhance efficiency and performance across his fleet.
The Challenge
Mark required a solution to convert and upgrade both trucks to ensure optimal functionality. Alpeco was tasked with providing a tailored quote for the conversion, including 2-compartment and 3-compartment upgrade kits. Installation and calibration were crucial to ensuring seamless integration, so site visits from Alpeco engineers were planned as part of the process.
The Solution
After evaluating Semmens Fuels’ needs, Alpeco delivered a bespoke solution using the TEX Retro Fit system. The upgrades were carefully assembled at Alpeco’s offices, with a two-compartment and three-compartment TEX controller paired with the TEX LINK remote control system. This cutting-edge technology was configured to Semmens Fuels’ specifications, offering enhanced control and operational efficiency.
The Implementation
In late September, Alpeco engineers Jamie and Steve travelled to Cornwall to carry out the installations. Fieldwork can sometimes present unexpected challenges, and this project was no exception. However, the team worked diligently to overcome these obstacles, successfully installing and calibrating the TEX systems for both trucks.
The Outcome
Following the installations, both trucks became fully operational, delivering fuel efficiently and reliably. The TEX Retro Fit upgrades exceeded Semmens Fuels’ expectations, providing a significant boost to the fleet’s performance and meeting the company’s high standards for fuel delivery.
